Our 3-star trips use clean, comfortable economy hotels, usually approx. a short walk or a shuttle ride from the Haram in Makkah. They suit first-time pilgrims and anyone keeping a close eye on cost.

4-star Umrah packages London (from £620)

More space and better facilities, with hotels approx. a short walk or shuttle from the Haram and close to Masjid an-Nabawi. This is our most popular tier with families.

5-star Umrah packages London (from £775)

Premium hotels that are approx. the shortest walk from the Haram and near Masjid an-Nabawi, with priority check-in and room service. These suit pilgrims travelling with elderly relatives or young children who want the least walking.

Which London airports can I fly from for Umrah?

You can fly for Umrah from all five London airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City. Our London Heathrow Umrah packages use the direct Jeddah service with Saudia or British Airways, while our London Gatwick Umrah packages, and those from Stansted, Luton and London City, fly on connecting routes through a hub such as Istanbul, Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi.

Direct flights from London to Jeddah

Among the London airports, Heathrow is currently the one with a direct Jeddah service (to King Abdulaziz International Airport), flown by Saudia and British Airways. A direct Heathrow to Jeddah flight takes approx. 6 to 7 hours, covering approx. 3,000 miles. A direct flight also saves time and reduces tiredness, and it is usually the easier option when you are travelling with children or elderly relatives.

Connecting flights from Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City

From Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City, you fly to Saudi Arabia on a connecting route through one hub. Common options are Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi. Connecting flights usually cost less than direct flights, so they can suit pilgrims who do not mind a short layover.

Flying to Madinah from London

There is no direct flight from any UK airport, including London, to Madinah. If your trip starts or ends in Madinah, you travel on a connecting route through a hub airport. We can also arrange a domestic flight or bus service between Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah once you are in Saudi Arabia.

Umrah visa and Nusuk for London pilgrims

You need two things to perform Umrah: a visa to enter Saudi Arabia and a Nusuk permit to perform the rituals. Tawaf Travel provides visa support and helps you register your Nusuk permit as part of your package. The Nusuk platform is now required for booking your visa-linked accommodation and for your Raw?ah (Riyad al-Jannah) permits, so both are handled the correct way.

What is new for Umrah in 2026?

• The Saudi ETA replaced the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) from 1 July 2026, so check which route applies to your passport. We advise you on the right one.
• Your visa and your Nusuk permit are separate. The visa lets you into the country; the Nusuk permit lets you into the Mataf around the Kaaba and the Rawdah in Madinah.
• Your accommodation and transport must be booked through Nusuk-linked systems before your visa, which is why we confirm your hotels first.
